Character Name: Gawain
Canon Fate/EXTRA

Personality: As a Knight of the Round Table, Gawain was known as the White Knight. This had as much to do with his demeanor as it did his preferred color. To him, chivalry is the highest code of honor there is, and he follows it to the best of his ability. He refuses to recant his oaths, prefers his battles honorable, and is loyal to a fault.

However, just as so many other Knights of the Round Table, Gawain possessed a fatal flaw -- he was susceptible to the deadly sin of wrath, so much so that he was not deemed worthy to partake in the quest for the Holy Grail. In his tales, Gawain loses his temper on multiple occasions, usually met with disastrous results. The greatest example was Gawain's thirst for revenge against Lancelot for slaying his brothers. This would cause Gawain to break oaths and prove disastrous to King Arthur's forces in battle -- and he would accomplish nothing with it, for Lancelot would survive the encounter and mortally wound him. Even once summoned as a Servant, his temper is a problem, and the main character and his/her Servant exploit this in order to stall for time in a plan to rid Gawain of the powers gifted upon him by the sun.

That said, Gawain always realizes when he has made a deadly error, and always repents for it. When he accidentally slew a woman, he went to Guinevere to tell of his error, and she made him swear an oath to be a champion for ladies, an oath that Gawain would adhere to as best he could. Later, when wounded by Lancelot, Gawain blamed himself for the bad turn that King Arthur's battle with Mordred's forces took, and pleaded for Arthur and Lancelot to reconcile when he was on his deathbed.

This also carries over to his time as a Servant. After being summoned, Gawain wished to make a better name for himself and repent for his past transgressions by swearing absolute loyalty to his Master, and to act as his sword in guiding him down the path to glory. This gets him called out by all three player Servants, but even under their criticism, Gawain refuses to falter.

In truth, Gawain realized that the Servants' criticisms had merit, and that his Master was an incomplete king. He wanted Leo to grow to realize that, but without faltering in his duty. This led him to press on despite Leo's fatal flaw. But when he was defeated, he had no regrets. He had fought with the best of his ability, and in his defeat taught Leo the one lesson that he so desperately needed to learn. He had remained loyal to his Master to the end, and helped him grow as a person.

Aside from Gawain's flaws and conflicts, though, he's typically a very polite and courteous, if slightly condescending, person. He always carries himself with dignity, and his manner of speech is equally dignified. Even when he lashes out at his opponents, he does so eloquently.

Additionally, when not caught up in his anger, Gawain demonstrates great ability to think on his feet. Though he prefers honorable combat, he is not above using the surroundings to his advantage, such as terrain or even using objects not meant to be shields in order to block attacks. He also fights to hit vital points rather than wasting time trying to disarm his opponent.

All in all, Gawain is deeply flawed, as are many of Arthur's knights. However, despite his flaws, Gawain was able to make a name for himself as one of Arthur's two greatest knights and earned the adoration of scholars of lore for centuries to come and the respect of his opponents in the Holy Grail War.
History: In Arthurian lore, in Fate/EXTRA
Setting Info: WARNING: This world sucks even more than the main Nasuverse world.
Canon Point: End of Round 7, immediately after the Elimination Battle.

Abilities/Powers: Servant - A Servant is a Heroic Spirit given physical form by the Holy Grail in one of seven vessels, according to class (Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker). Gawain falls into the Saber class, typically acknowledged as the strongest class. As a Servant, Gawain cannot be harmed by mundane weaponry, and few if any humans can hope to stand up to him in battle. However, he also requires a constant supply of odo from a Master in order to continue existing in this world.

Servant Parameters - A Servant's stats are broken down into five parameters (not including Noble Phantasm) that denote the Servant's physical strength, endurance, speed and agility, prana capacity, and luck. For reference, if a normal human's stat in these parameters is a 1, then a Servant with rank E, the lowest rank, in that same parameter has ten times the ability, and increases by 10 for each successively higher rank. Gawain's parameters are as follows:

Strength: B+
Endurance: B+
Agility: B
Magic: A
Luck: A

Magic Resistance: B - Protection against magical effects. Gawain's rank protects him from all but the most powerful spells.

Riding: B - The ability to ride mounted beasts and vehicles. Gawain can handle most beasts and vehicles with above-average skill, but he cannot ride Phantasm Beasts.

Numeral of the Saint: EX - Gawain's personal skill. From the hours of 9:00 AM until noon, and 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Gawain's power is tripled.

Excalibur Galatine: The Resurrected Sword of Victory - Gawain's Noble Phantasm, his ultimate weapon, the item that defines his identity as a hero. The sister sword of Excalibur. Whereas Excalibur draws upon light from the Earth, Galatine draws in the rays of the sun. It stores the sun's light and heat, and can release it in one huge burst (the main attack of his Noble Phantasm) or in smaller bursts (as an attack called Blade of the Devoted).

Divine Aegis: A skill by use that Gawain possesses. While active, it raises his Luck by one rank.

Intended Guild: Knights of the Cross. Gawain was a knight in his previous life, and he wants to clear his name. He will submit to law and order, and if given the authority, will see that it is enforced.

Notes/Other Info: The canon point I plan on bringing Gawain in from is as the Moon Cell is preparing to delete him, so his contract with Leo no longer exists. I hope to eventually have him form a contract with a new Master, but until then, he'll need some sort of prana supply.
